
Macdonald collects
valuable points at Charlton

Saturday night saw
round 3 of the Exide Batteries Nambour Modified Production Series
held at charlton Raceway in which Shane Currently sits 5th after a
great round at Brisbane the other weekend. Shane was hoping to
progress up the ladder even more having the home track advantage.
Heat 1 saw Shane start from row 3 on the grid. Shane moved through
the pack to come home in 4th. Heat 2 Shane thought the track had
dried out some what and decided to lmake some adjustments to the car
setup hoping that the changes to the car would suit the track . This
was not the case as macdonald found out, starting on the front row,
macdonald struggled with the car and came home in 5th position. The
third and final heat saw Shane and Nathan in the same heat, both
cars lined up on the second row. Nathan settled into 3rd place and
soon made his way into 2nd behind Todd Doyle. Nathan chasing the
tail of Doyle for several laps, with Doyle the eventual winner from
Macdonald. Shane ran wide which saw him fall back to 5th position.
Shane Qualified his
car out of 15th for the final while Nathan was to start out of
position 14.
Nathan got off to a great start and raced past many top drivers
through the field utilising his home track advantage on his way to a
2nd place finish behind race winner Greg Worling. Shane Making his
way through the field on a very rough track to finish in position 9.
Shane admiting he didnt have the car setup right which saw him
struggle for most of the night. Shane and Nathan will now set their
sights on the Modified Production 30/30 at Gympie next weekend and
then 3 weeks after that the Australian Modified Production Titles at
Latrobe Tasmania.
