Macdonald Takes win in front of Big World Series Sprintcars crowd

Shane Macdonald took the win in Saturday nights feature race ahead of Rodney Pammenter and Royce Ernst in front of a big World Series Sprint cars crowd. Macdonald Qualified his Queensland 1 car on pole position alongside Robert Trapp. Macdonald led the race from start to finish.
Heat one Shane Started from position 6 on a really greasy track. Macdonald deciding to take a very cautious approach to avoid any damage to the car. Shane made his way up to finish behind his brother in 4th Position.
Heat 2 saw Macdonald start from position 6 again. Shane managed to find his way into position 3 by the end of the first lap. Early race leader Darren Baldwin had a half spin allowing Macdonald into second position which then saw a great battle between Trapp and Macdonald for the Lead. Trapp edging Macdonald out to take the heat win.
Heat 3 saw Macdonald take the win from pole position followed by Trapp and Baldwin.
The final saw Macdonald start from Pole with Trapp on the outside followed by Ernst, Baldwin, Gray, Harper and Nathan making up the back of the grid in 14th position after a disappointing couple of heats. Shane took the lead on the start and was under pressure from Trapp until he spun on lap two bringing on the yellows. Macdonald was able to lead the rest of the race to take the win with Pammenter making his way through the field to finish second. Nathan finishing mid pack after starting from the rear. Macdonald racing is now looking forward to this weekend for round 2 of the Queensland Modified Production Series at Brisbane International Speedway.
