Macdonald makes the most of season opener
Sunday October 18, 2009
Shane Macdonald flew the flag
for Macdonald Racing on Saturday night winning his first heat,
finishing 3rd in his second heat and leading the feature race from
green to Checker.

The First heat saw Macdonald start off the front row beside fellow
Toowoomba competitor Shane Dennis. Macdonald got the jump and led
from start to finish. Heat two saw Macdonald Start out of Position
6. The track had started to slick off a little and caught Macdonald
out as Macdonald half spun on the second lap. Macdonald made up the
ground that he had lost and got past Aiden Raymont as he spun onto
the infield, Macdonald then made his way
past Mark Ferguson to end up
finishing a credible 3rd. Macdonald had enough points to start out
of position 2 for the feature. Troy Ware out of 1, Gary Maroske out
of 3, Darran Lester out of 4, Dale Grother 5, Mark Ferguson 6 and
fellow Toowoomba driver Shane Dennis out of position 8. By this time
the track had gone fairly slick down the bottom with the high line
still showing signs of moisture. Macdonald put the commodore on the
boards and led the race from start to finish. There were a couple of
stopages as some drivers were struggling to come to grips with the
slick track. Macdonald pleased that all the hard work to get the car
back on the track has paid off.
Shane would especially like to thank
Nathan for his help painting the car and with the signs, and thanks
also to Keryn, Dad and Trappy. Long time sponsor of Macdonald racing
Toowoomba Steering Service has now changed names to Toowoomba
Steering and Suspension, still the same friendly people there, so
for any steering and Suspension need, pop into Toowoomba Steering
and Suspension and tell them that Shane Mac sent ya.
