Macdonald cruised to victory taking a deserved win for the final
meeting at Charlton Raceway for the 2007/2008 Season.
Shane's first heat
saw him start from the rear of the field, and a solid drive saw him
cut his way through the field to finish third behind Robert Trapp
with Peter Gray taking the win.
Having pole position
for the second heat, Macdonald used all of the V6 power to motor
into the lead ahead of Mark Ferguson. Macdonald held on for
the win with Robert Trapp right on his tail all the way and Peter
Gray finishing in third.
A slight change in
the pits saw the car a lot faster and easier to drive for the
feature race. Macdonald started in position two with Peter Gray in
pole position. Trappy qualified in third followed by Robbie
White, Mark Ferguson, Darran Ciesolka, Ian Galvin, Royce Ernst and
Brett Raabe. Shane managed to get a better run into turn one
taking the lead from Gray, while after only one lap was completed
Robert Trapp had a steering failure and in the process couldn't do
anything, spinning Peter Gray and then slamming into the concrete
wall, suffering major suspension damage.
The race restarted
with Macdonald out in front, followed by Peter Gray and Mark
Ferguson. Macdonald went on to lead the entire race and greet
the chequered flag in first place with Mark Ferguson 2nd and Peter
Gray third.
With a lot of other
personal commitments going on at the moment, Shane's next race will
most likely be the QLD Title at Maryborough on the 7th & 8th June.
