Macdonald ready for Australian Title
assault
Wednesday March 19, 2008
After
a gruelling week of preparation, fabrication and re-modelling the
front end of the car caused by a nasty crash at Charlton a week ago,
Shane Macdonald is almost set to compete in his first Australian
Title in Modified Production.
The team has spent
countless hours on the car ensuring it will be ready in time, and
without the generosity of friends, family, and sponsors, Macdonald
would be finding it tough.
Special Thanks to
John Jones at Rockabilly Restorations for straightening the car out,
Rodney Pammenter from RCP Machining for helping re-build the front
end and Dennis Bullpitt from Toowoomba Steering Service for making
sure its will be steering in the right direction.
Macdonald cannot
thank these people enough, and can only hope of a good result this
weekend. With
over 90 cars nominated for the title this weekend at Maryborough,
"its going to be tough just to qualify for the A-main, I would have
to nearly finish in the top three in each heat to qualify directly"
Macdonald said.
The team leaves on
Thursday to be at the unofficial practice on Thursday Night, and if
more setup time is needed, will be utilising the official practice
on Friday night as well, followed by the heat races on Friday night
and the Final on Sunday night with a $2,500 pay check for the
winner.
