Another sad end to the QLD Title
Monday, 11 June 2007
After a strong showing in the first night of racing for the state title, Shane continued on his solid form with a 3rd placing in his final heat on the second night (10th June).  Shane qualified his Linmac Automotive commodore from position 8 for the 40 lap final, with a number of hot contenders up ahead of him, including Aiden Raymont, Todd Doyle, Mark Raymont, Glen Pagel, Dale Grother, Gary Maroske and Gavin Lorensen.  Unfortunately Shane would only last a couple of laps, whilst running 8th the engine just cut out.  An electrical problem exists on the car with the engine providing no spark.  The race was restarted to get Macdonald off the track.

Shane will take all the positives out of the weekend, proving he has the speed to match it with the best, at a track that is difficult to master if your not a local.

Aiden Raymont took a well deserved win, leading from flag to flag to be the new QLD Champion.  Gavin Lorensen crossed in 2nd place, Glen Pagel 3rd and Greg Raymont 4th.

Shane would like to add special thanks to Cooroy Auto Wreckers for supplying some parts the team needed after the first night of racing

Keep checking back this week for some great in-car footage from Shane's car over the weekend.

Shane will hang up the helmet and boots until next season, and will miss next weekend's race at Maryborough due to work commitments.

The car will be stripped, painted and a new look will exist for next season, so keep an eye out for the #27 Holden Commodore of Shane Macdonald.
