Rainfall cancels Brisbane
Sunday, 29 April 2007
Rain has caused the cancellation of last nights racing (28th April).  Shane Macdonald had raced his two heats, and soon after the rain came down, not heavily but enough to ruin the rest of the night.  The Sprintcar QLD Title was actually run today (29th April) with Andrew Scheuerle winning the Title.

Shane started from position 3 in heat one.  Shane moved into 2nd place by lap one as he chased race leader Dale Grother.  Both car were very evenly matched as they both maintained and equal car-length between themselves.  Greg Worling got up the inside of Macdonald, in what was an awesome spectacle, seeing two cars race side by side for about 4 laps with no contact.  Shane had his work cut out for him, racing Worling around the outside.  In the end Macdonald edged out Worling across the line.  Grother took the win with Macdonald 2nd, and Worling 3rd.

Heat two saw Shane start from position 5.  Shane once again started to move forward, as he was running 3rd, Mark Ferguson got up the inside of Shane around turn 1, as the two cars touched Shane rode a wheel which sent Macdonald on two wheels, as he came back down heavily the car turned around.  The race was restarted with Macdonald put back to position 3 and Ferguson put to the rear of field.  As the race got underway, Shane surged on pushing his VS Commodore all the way.  As he came into turn 1, the right rear of the car bit in hard which then saw the car tip on two wheels and almost roll.  Macdonald was very lucky not to go over, after quick thinking from Shane he turned right to bring it back down.  Shane kept the throttle down and managed to finish in 3rd.

A light drizzle fell on the track which saw the night cancelled.
