Last night saw the 3 rounds of heats run for this years Australian Title, with another two heats, possibly a 6 lap dash and a 15 lap final on the 5th of June.  Nathan Macdonald was struggling for horsepower all weekend, as he was using a stand-in engine for this weekend, and couldn't have his racing engine ready in time.  In the first heat Macdonald stayed in the race to finish 8th after starting from the rear.  While Terry Medcalf managed to take the heat 1 win followed by Steve Conway, Darren Lester, Tony Blacker Peter Rodgers and Rodney Pammenter.  1st Terry Medcalf     2nd Steve Conway    3rd Darren Lester. 

In heat 2 Macdonald was off of pole position, with Paul Zoubakin beside him, but within a few laps Macdonald dropped back to 7th position, while Rodney Pammenter charged through the big field of cars, going around the outside of numerous cars.  Pammenter got up to 2nd place, and caught the race leader Tony Blacker, when he went on the inside of Blacker but collected Travis Hollyman who had spun across the track.  This happened on the final lap which allowed Pammenter to cruise across the finish line in 2nd place.   1st Tony Blacker     2nd Rodney Pammenter    3rd Peter Rodgers. 

In the final heat for the night, Darren Lester in his Holden Commodore V8 lead for the whole race up until his right side axle snapped on the last lap which let Tony Blacker through and Rodney Pammenter almost beating Lester across the finish line. While back in the pack Nathan Macdonald managed to come in for 6th place.  1st Tony Blacker     2nd Darren Lester    3rd Rodney Pammenter.
